Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I heard on the news the other day that some of the falls there are now flowing again. Some optimism there. This is a very cool shot.

Bridal Veil falls?

it's an excerpt, but it has power one usually finds in a broad overview. You do that a lot: Zero in on one "event," but you get a big power, as if this were a sweeping overview. I love that the waterfall's off to the left---by not centering it, it makes us aware of how the rock 'mimics' the water in several places. Big flow lines on that rock. Another Marilyn shot, zeroing in and still getting raw power. Always great to see you here, you bring your unique vision each time you come. This closeup intimates the massivity of Yosemite's formations.

Beautifully captured!

As Mark mentioned, that huge rock face tells a story. Water goes where it will, and not always where it's been before! This is fantastic!

Ah, a place I haven't visited for years. It has been so long ago that I didn't even have a camera:) You've "wet my appetite" for a return trip.
