Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I'd heard that San Francisco residents don't like the name "Frisco," but I never heard what's behind it. In any case, it's a bold shot, Marilyn, because you have that fog just eating up 3/4 of the shot, and I mean it's thick. It's almost like a magic cloud. And, with andrea, you got glitter on the water regardless. Another bold creative marilyn shot, with the city peeking its head out only at the top, and giving the feeling that the city emerges out of a cloud each morning. More creative and inventive work from you. (And the fog has texture too---it's visible in zoom.)

Fantastic picture my friend :)

I'm from the "South Bay" and I have lived here all my life. I have always called it "Frisco" and most of my SF based friends don't like it which just eggs me on to say it more (LOL). Of all the cities in the Bay Area, SF is probably the snootiest, if you catch my drift. It is a world class city and they like to remind people about it. Well, just a thought from a local. This is a great shot of the city.

This is great! I lived there for four years and never saw fog like this. What a terrific catch. A fantastic feeling of a floating city.
