Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Perhaps it just needs cleaning or an adjustment? As long as it's burning that's what matters. I'd call the gas company! This is brilliant, perfectly worked art!

What a beautiful picture and your postwork has made the lights really stand out Andrea.
My parents had a gas stove when I was a youngster and it always scared the behooey out of me.
I'm sure you are aware of the dangers, just be careful !

What a brilliant abstract! Your composition moves my eye around so nicely, and I get to look at all its parts over and over again. How satisfying!

oh I LOVE this! I LOVE it! Zoom's a must---your postwork has made chunks of glowing minerals, or else two glowing candy bars with radioactive centers, surrounded by avant garde stalks of asparagus, and photographed over an infrared map of the world. (Too specific? I can't help it...) It's tremendous! I love it---thank you, alarm, for bringing this inspiration to Andrea!!!! I'll take 15 prints! Send me the bill...

An outstanding kinetic abstract, almost chaotic, with its green streaks and brilliant yellows and oranges. And smack in the middle is the somewhat sinister shadow of a man in a cloak, left hand upraised, his Cyrano nose and pompadour clearly profiled against a dark orange background. Perhaps he is the cause of all this.
