Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Aw darn those "hot flushes" LOL.
He does look comfortable though, great shot, thanks for sharing.

Whoa. That is one relaxed pup! I'm glad he has those moments, because he seems a bit on the tense side. What a lovely look at Ralph!

oh yeah, dogs'll sleep however. They flop where they need to, and stay there...This is a delightful shot of R, and is he sleeping? Or contemplating whether to get up or not...I often wonder if dogs don't think, "do I rise and bark, or do I consider the futility of life..." The other thing is that great throw or sheet under Ralph...great patterns for a dog. (And a houndstooth throw above him---your dogs get to rest in some high class fabrics! My childhood dog slept in old towels!) Another delightful entry into this wonderful series, Andrea...

This is what happens when you spend late nights at the pub. At least you don't have to train him to play dead. Love the shot. I just had a thought. When a dog has a hangover what does he drink? The hair of the human that bit you? (sorry, its past my bedtime)

Oh my goodness, I'd be so sore I couldn't move for two days if I tried to stretch out over a small chair. Great shot. Aren't dogs such multitudes of sweet and amusing moments? :)
