First thought - Cosmic Eye. Second thought - I haven't been on those types of drugs in forty years. Very creative and very trippy.

Reminds me of the psychedelic trip through the star gate in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Very intense color work, Mark...

Ibuprofen? Shades of Claude19, in this stellar representation of either a coronal mass ejection, or a massive blood shot eyeball in outer space. I can't believe you didn't know what you were doing here. Much too precise and well designed for that.

As a progression of your digital painting, this is like ... everything came together and just clicked. You put orbs in everything, and this says, "screw the rest of it, I'm all about orbs," in a really cool way. The digital art is there, of course, but it fills an orb. The circle is the thing, over and over and over again, with the digital painting seemingly in its "proper" place. In full view more and more circles/orbs show up. Some are rings, some seem like lens flares. There isn't anything here that isn't a circle, or about to become a new circle or to be absorbed by another circle. Even the rays are only there to emphasize the circle(s).

LOVE this!

"After having spent his career as a graphic artist, Mark began to experiment with digital abstracts. His early works were all about color and movement. Those paintings were angular and bright, with primary and secondary colors across the spectrum appearing as a theme. These multi-panel works were an evolving story, but always ended with an orb as punctuation. Later on he began limiting his color palettes, using a more subtle range, paring it down. Even so, the orb theme continued. With "Solar Fashion Statement," the digital abstract was relegated to its own circular territory. This work marked the beginning of ... "

... of what? I can't wait to see what's next! (Like that last part? It's for your Wiki when you get famous. I can crank that sh*t out all day long! LOL!)

I have no idea about how you came to this gorgeous artwork, how you shaped it. Although, at first I thought that you also processes that exceptionally colorful birthday card for Bill. So, I can worry about it a long time, I'll never know; especially as you say, not even knowing it (ha, ha, supposedly, I suspect). What I do know, and I often remember is a particularly pleasant experience. In short: As a child (5 years?), early in the morning. My parents had just risen, their beds had still their heat. I was all alone on the top floor, and still in my nightgown. I lay down on 'the hot spot' of my mother. I smelled her perfume, I felt wonderful, so relaxed, and I saw all kinds of dust whirl before my eyes in the sunlight. It was like hallucinating, so I could suck (as it were) these colored round orbs. They had many colors, many shapes too, and flew right into my soul, forever in my head and in my memory. This art here from you, Mark, is like a guideline to another side, ....which side? ;-)
