Description
The grotto wall rock has been sculpted into a unique shape & incorporated into the architecture of the palace here. That fenced portion at the bottom is part of an aviary which held several owls (unfortunately, I couldn't get a decent shot of them through the fencing). This looks very much like the face of a very sad man to me, though you may see something totally different...

A man with icicle encrusted eyebrows, mustache and beard. He has a reason to be sad:) Well taken.

I see the sad man too, a very old, tired and sad man. He has an owl beak, too. What a very cool bit of work this is!

lol, Bill. And on top of that, he's hanging on a wall over a fence! And, as Denise says, he has an owl beak. A marvelous creation---boy I'm really starting to love this designer!---placed marvelously, and a great take-off of the traditional gargoyles and other monsters that architects put on buildings in the past. As for the photo, you have this softened glow on things around it, which sets off the face: It's almost like it's looking at us from some perch in heaven. And the shot is perfectly symmetric, which sets it off more. I've said in your gallery before that you handle symmetric composition very well, which is worth saying because symmetry is a bear, and can really ruin a shot. And the light on the face brings out its 'age' and decay. Another wonderful shot.
