Description

For those of you that were following this story all I can say is I'm sorry. I'm going to give this a try once again, however this time its going to happen when time permits. I tried rushing it before and everything fell apart. I tried releasing it with just the story and no art and never found the same satisfaction as when i released the story and art together. So I'm taking a writers/artists perogative and wiping everything after the path of Unspeakable Evil part 50. If Disney can wipe out 20 years of Star Wars books I can do it too. I'm starting over with the forgotten ruins part 1. I will now ONLY release the story if I have the artwork to go along with it. What does this mean? it means each part could possibly take 3 months, and I'm sorry for that. I just don't have the time to dedicate to it like I used to, but I found I cant not do it either. hope this rambling makes sense and here we go again.... The path is proving to be uneventful once again, not much is different than my first experience along it. Our group is large now, but the bridges are narrow, allowing for us to move across them in single file. While Crete and Hades communicate from time to time, Grys seems to keep mostly to himself. Thankfully I have Tate. "I miss my hammers, I feel so vulnerable out here in the open without them." I say trying to break the silence. "I'm sorry." replies Tate. "When you were injured I couldn't carry them in addition to you..." His voices trails off, I can tell he feels bad so I lean into him and smile. "I'm not blaming you, you saved my life. All I meant was it would be nice to have the means to protect myself." "Do you know how to use any other weapons?" He asks. "Crete has his hammer, that should be more than enough and to be honest, when I first saw you in the tomb I was surprised to see you wielding such heavy weapons. I'm also curious about your armor, it's quite nice. Where did you get it?" He watches as my shoulders drop and my posture changes completely. I realize that I'm doing it but feel helpless to prevent it. Luckily he's an observant man, he knows its something I don't want to discuss. "It's not important. "He says. I look up into his beautiful blue eyes and give him the best fake smile I can manage. I know he is a good man and that I can trust him, I hope I don't push him away by holding back. I can't lose Tate, I WON'T! Then I hear Hades... "Up ahead, I see something." No sooner do the words leave his mouth and I stop, I feel my whole body go rigid. Tate feels me stop. "What is it? What's wrong?" He asks. As he looks down at me I know he sees right through me, he knows I'm scared. This is where I almost lost my life to a dragon. A single tear begins to flow down my cheek, Tate reaches and gently wipes it away. He pulls me in close, I'm trembling. I feel safe in his arms, I don't ever want him to let go. "It's ok." He tells me in a comforting tone. "You don't understand." I say. "This is where I almost died, the dragon, it was so big...I thought I was done for." Titan and Bit begin gesturing madly, they remember too. "I'm sure that was terrifying, I can't imagine what that must have been like." He whispers in my ear. "But your not alone anymore. I won't let anything happen to you...ever!" My rapid heart rate is beginning to stabilize and my trembling is beginning to subside. Up ahead I watch as the strange gray skinned brothers with the glowing red eyes argue about something and it gets me thinking. "Tate, Where do we go from here?" "What do you mean?" He asks sounding confused. "The brothers, why are we staying with them? Crete seems dangerous and volatile, do you really trust him?" I ask. He ponders my question almost like he was expecting it. "I promised Kortt I would help them find their way. I don't trust them but I don't distrust them either. All I know is I would rather have them as friends than as enemies." He tells me. "He seems so reckless though, I told him about the castle so he would leave the tomb, I never expected he would be hell bent on finding a dragon! Who searches out a dragon? That's insane!" I say. "I don't disagree with you. Dragons are rare, almost extinct. I have never seen one but have heard enough stories to know that if I ever do come across one my only thought should be to try and get away as quickly as possible. I agree. Crete does seem reckless, but their is something you should know." I say nothing so he continues. "According to Kortt, Crete because of the gear and the weapons he now carries is one of the most powerful and dangerous men alive. In fact one of his swords is enchanted specifically for dragons." He tells me. "Well that's good to know, but he still seems foolish to be searching one out. I hope when the time comes we can go our separate way." I tell him. He smiles. "If we need to part ways then we will, for now let's at least give them a chance, they may surprise us. Besides their is safety in numbers and even with Titan being as menacing as he is...he may not always be enough to keep us safe." I giggle as Titan's jaw drops in disgust and poses as heroically as he can. Crete begins pointing up ahead, the ruins must be close. We move towards the rest of the group and sure enough the ruins become visible. Hades looks to Hayden and asks... "Any idea what these ruins used to be?" "I don't." I reply truthfully. "FORGOTTEN Ruins." Says Grys, emphasizing the forgotten. "The sun is setting, it would be in our best interest to seek shelter there. The walls can provide cover and protection from the wind and wherever else may be lurking around down there." Crete nods in agreement and is the first to begin crossing the bridge, my heart begins racing once again. "Just take my hand, We can do this together." Says Tate.
