Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

What a nice collage Andrea.
Toadstools look so pretty wherever they sprout up.
Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully captured, the leaves make a great background for them!

I love how the family group on the left are leaning slightly forward as if looking on with horror at the departed one in the middle (What happened to daddy, mummy?). And the one on the left? Probably someone from the police come to investigate the crime. A lovely triptych. I love the light on the leaves.

Beautiful collage of images, Andrea. The color of autumn leaves makes the perfect contrast to showcase them!

ditto the above, and as always I love to read Mark (wysiwig). The middle one really does look like the dearly departed. More amazing closeups from you of some of nature's strangest and most fantastic creatures---and fantastic in the literal sense, as in a fantasy, something from another world, even though they're right beneath our feet. The middle and right ones are darker, and the right one is like a flattened flower, or a breakfast pastry (a little pale for a pastry, lol, but still...) And the light on the left shot is bright and dancing: That's a little joy-shot. And zoom reveals it all. A wonderful triptych. We don't get enough of these in the big city, but I can always count on you to fill in the lacks here. (And helle too, but she had a bad season this fall. DK let her down this year...apparently not the UK.)
