Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

yes, there's blur, but we can see the light and shadow and wonderfully convoluted shapes...they're like rose petals that escaped the rose and started up on their own. The lighting and morphs are wonderfully rich. And I like the different flora around it too. A real pasta-dish of a shot; even with the blur, the character comes shouting through, like he's singing an aria. I really like it, Andrea!
(Do you think Raphael or Michelangelo ever wrote, at the bottom of one of their pieces, "for another version, see here"? Maybe there's a second Sistine Chapel on flickr! With, like, 4 comments: "Nice job." "I dig your god." "Cool!" Do you think we could offer flickr versions of ourselves? If someone doesn't like us, we just say, "for another version, see here..." I see potential in that...and btw, I really love your 2 versions of your art, they always give us wonderful variations...)

It's a beautiful bit of life; I haven't seen it here, but that doesn't mean it isn't running rampant!

Widespread, eh? So I guess they reproduce like rabbits? Odd little creatures and new to me. I like the colors here.

Another new type of fungus I've never seen before. Looks like an exotic rose. You are lucky to have such diversity there.
