Description

you see the close up of a violin player hands and you will see this. The black is grease or rodle from the strings they put on so the fingers can glade over the strings well. Of course the stings also made the indent on the fingers also hope the color is right as I got two screens on my computer and they not set for right color yet. but the hand are flesh looking in the read painting

your wonderful painting, dear artist represents what is more important for a musician ... his hands, the bow for string instruments, and expression, which for a great painter like you, enables you to exist in a society, and integrate this wonderful world that was, is and will always art, planet of freedom! Jocko THANKS for these moments with you and your paintings, hoping that there will be many more !!!

anyone who's played the violin or viola will recognize those hands. I know the grooves well---I played string bass, which really left grooves in the fingers, lol. It's amazing how that little instrument (the violin) becomes an extension of the player: The minute they pick it up, something "turns on" inside them, a switch goes on, they become like a dog ready to run after something: They are primed to pour their souls out in an instant. You captured the tensions and wrinkles, and that tight clasp that violinists have when they pick up their instruments and bows. Those bows---long as they are---are intimate extensions of the player. And you got the wood-grain of the violin, which also becomes like a brother or sister to the player. The wood grain, often like the stripes on a tiger, becomes so familiar that you feel you're 'at home' the minute you see it, even if you're miles away. Your colors as always are expressive, esp your yellows, and you painted a simple background which allows the hand to dominate. (The background is actually active...but it's simple compared to the musician.) Again, you create arias for musicians with your brush. Everytime I see your musician paintings, I feel you've painted a part of my life. And then, your painting, overall, is some of our best. Wonderful, Jock.
