Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Another lovely walk, Fritz is looking very well.

lol, he's thinking, "your 'little old man'??? pardon me???" I never looked this shimmering, even when I was young, so tell him he's doing great for his age. A lovely shot of Fritz truckin' close to the ground, and surrounded by that beautiful lush walkway, with bushes and trees galore. What a beautiful area to walk in! The shot has real beauty, Andrea. And the flickr version is a great dog shot---Fritz looks like he either just woke up, or was reading a reeeeeallly heavy book, or was up to something bad...love both shots. I have short legs too, btw, so he and I are sympatico. (We're "paisans".) My college friends used to ask me: "Is the air thicker down there???" Fritz'll never suffer from lack of oxygen...Love him way up front and that beautiful nature behind. Another delight in your ongoing dog series...if you make a book, I'll be the 1st customer.

Beautifully composed and I love that POV and lovely path. I'm growing quite fond of Fritz. :)

I take it the teeth cleaning went well. Love the other image. I knew Fritz looked a little guilty. And this is a beautiful setting for the "old man". I can understand why you have no desire to live anywhere else.

Aww, I'd take pity on him and he'd get fatter and fatter...I'm a sucker for a pretty boy!

As long as he can get around, it's good to keep going! He's so adorable, and has such great expressions. :)
