Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

oh man, Andrea, neither of these is conventional! Your flickr image has little atomic particles in it, and a similar dramatic angle. This one is less conventional though, yes: I love this even more. You did some deep freeze with that locker (yours?), like it's keeping polar bear meat inside. And of course we see some of your signature edge work, with all those colonies and particles and shorelines, etc. I love it on the doors. And your angle is ripe with angles and dipping lines...You made lockers--not exactly a classic subject for "exciting art"--into a dynamic energetic field! I really love this image! Terrific. (This has nothing to do with anything, but you think Moses had a locker? Or Isaiah? After his speech on the lion lying down with the lamb, he says, "ok guys, I gotta go to my locker---later!" Just asking...)

Ok, Mark is officially weird. I had no idea there were wormholes in Bournemouth. I must tell the European Space Agency. Space travel may be closer than we imagine. Super post work. I can easily imagine myself crawling into this and finding myself somewhere on the other side of the galaxy.

When I first looked at this, my thoughts turned to MIB II and the locker scene Cool POV and postwork

How fun, Mark calling Mark weird. They're both officially ... umm ... different! LOL! (I love them both, so of course I mean that in the nicest way!)
Whatever you did to get that glow, it's fantastic!
