Description

I thought the position of the statue opposite the building was interesting. I don't know anything specific about the statue or the building - there were just too many architectural wonders in Prague to keep track of... Please zoom.

one of the wonders of architecture, to me, is juxtaposition. Everywhere you turn, one building is interrupting another, one sculpture's messing with an entry, a facade. And every so often, two completely different structures talk to each other. They make harmony. I love this shot. The clarity of those amazing geometric forms (in front of him) is so strong, it makes them seem on 'top' of him, like a print. And if he's not looking right 'at' the windows, he's sure as hell thinking about them. What a frontal shot! Also, his green really stands out against that beige. Man, you have an eye: You catch these things, and then you dive in make them sing. A terrific shot, Claude. Kudos.

(and what an amazing facade: Two semi circles, then two triangles, over and over...you could get hypnotized looking at that thing...)

I agree. It doesn't matter what the building is or which statue this is or why they're next to each other. The fact that they sing together is enough. Wonderful!

I agree with Mark about the mesmerising effect of the pattern of the windows ! One could get paranoid being inside and feeling watched. A superb photo.

Oh, a statue to a "peeping Tom"! Very unique indeed (if this actually were the case). You did a nice and unintentionally humerus photo here. Thanks for the good chuckle. Now I'm "un-hypnotized" from the triangles and semicircles! Keep up the good work. This is like a tour of Prague without leaving my home/computer. VERY nice initiative in a unique historical city. :-)

Your photos should rate a 6!

What an astonishingly captivating building! Even the statue got pulled in, now he's stuck for eternity in the pose of a peeping Tom...

Must be the patterns on the building that is holding this statue captivated. God bless.
