Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Or possibly the Hancock building. Nice composition with the trees in the distance. And the light and color of the water is beautiful.

lol, Mark..it almost looks like the Hancock (although if it was, it'd be in big trouble, like "people? we're falling into the lake!!!") Stark almost eerie hues make it feel like it's a plank to the unknown. And all that shimmering water...another unique take on a common sight from you. You always bring out the unseen energies in things. (The trees on top frame it nicely, too.) It's always great to see you here, Marilyn: Your vision is always unique and totally fresh and eye-opening...

I like the way the narrow band at the top, showing the far shore, forces us to look back again at the dock, as if that dock were the only salvation in all the world. Wonderful image!
