Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

LOL---Love it! I Love the song, and the sax version (the link) is played with real panache. (What an age we live in: The guy pushes a button on his synthesizer, and gets a full jazz accompaniment!) Fritz could be a crooner, esp with those gold and red eyes...women are dropping to the floor as we speak...and Ralph is like the adoring fan, hanging on his every note. Those fridge magnets get great sound, don't they??? It's a delightful shot even without the Gershwin, but with it, move over Humphrey Bogart! ("The problems of two little dogs don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world...") I know Bogart didn't play sax, but still: Give Fritz an old Burberry Trench, add some fog, and you got yourself a scene here. I can't tell you how many times I played this song in my jazz days...unfortunately it was in awful clubs, it was 3 in the freakin' morning, and there were 3 people present and only one was awake---and he was screaming about his wife over a bottle of Scotch. (Not an encouraging 'fan base'.) Gershwin was the modern Schubert, song-wise, and I adore this song. Now I'm gonna walk outside, stand under a street lamp, light up, and wait for my lady...wonderful shot, Andrea.
(ps---I'd love it if Fritz refused, saying he "prefers Cole Porter"...)

Lovely image.

This is so cute. Snuggling together. So, who's playing the saxophone? Keep up the good work! :-)

What a sweet and touching image and title! This just makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over. LOVE the glow you caught in Fritz's eyes. Such a nice image and perfectly illustrates the title. And I loved the song too. My favorite of all the many millions of versions of the song is a Sax version of Danny Boy by Sil Austin. You can find it on you tube.

It does look as if Fritz is being protected by his big brother. A warm and touching image.

What a gorgeous capture of Ralph and Fritz relaxing to the beautiful tune played on the Saxophone.
Thanks for sharing the link Andrea, it is wonderful !
What a nice keepsake from your musical lodger, it appears your renters come a variety of places with a multitude of interesting talents..

I saw this when you put it up, and was quite sure I commented on it, but I see it somehow slipped me by. It's certainly worth coming back to. The picture of your boys is a delight, and I love it that you've layered the image with the saxophone magnet. This is so nicely done!
