Description

Yesterday I posted the image with staci in the middle of a highly reflective converging tube. I then posed the question of how many planes were used to create the image. this is the screen capture of the final configuration prior to rendering. Barb (Babako) was the closest with 4 \the actual answer is 5 planes! there is the back wall at 90 degrees then the other 4 are forming a box with interior angles of 25 degrees to center - add one unfortunate fae in the center of this converging kinds square and VERY reflective tube and you have the results. I will say that the results exceeded expectations for reflectivity. You do realize that I have no choice but to explore this phenomenon further, with Staci's and Queen Zlata the Gentle's cooperation, Xin-Xin will no doubt be involved as well. this was a very fun bit of work thank you all for your participation in this guessing game Mike thanks also for the comments and faves

WOW!!! I use Daz all the time and I would have never guessed to try this. The result you received was very cool. When I viewed your image at full size, I noticed that you are using Daz 3.1 and I wonder if I will still get the same results as I am using the iRay beta version 4.9.5 Anyway Awesome Work!!!!

I'm surprised I got it close; I never did the cool reflective things you do with Daz Studio. I figured there were 4 sides but forgot there was a back plane, too. this is really interesting. keep experimenting!

I can't even get clothes to fit V4. Next you'll be giving us lessons in particle physics. Very cool work.

Lol, I guess I was more off than anyone else...but I don't know anything about Daz or other 3D, so when you said "planes," I strictly looked for 'visual planes'---ie just flat surfaces (the mundane sense of plane). Your visual here at least explains it better. Thanks for posting this, it gives me more insight into what you deal with when you make these iimages. If I had this window in front of me, right now? I'd be pushing sliders like a little kid, and hoping something worthwhile happened. I did Blender and lost my mind, and I once played with Poser, and the models sued me for causing them bodily injury. And btw, even though this is just a screenshot of a Daz window, I like the way it looks, visually. I could make an abstract out of this...Fascinating answer to yesterday's question, Mike.

Makes perfect sense now that I look at it... Reflections are fascinating to play with.. It's like getting into one of those elevators that have mirrored walls..

I would be shocked if you didn't explore this further - with the help of Her Immanence and staff, of course! :-D

Having looked at the render and then seeing your setup really helps. I find myself still a bit mystified by how to set up scenes and get effects like I am wanting in DS. I love how you experiment with new effects and keep pushing the envelope to see what you can achieve in your renders. That is one of the things that makes your artwork most interesting to me.
