Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Cheers. I've been to the wedge, but honestly there was NO WAY I was going into that!!! How they avoid breaking their necks I don't know!!!! I was a chicken and stayed firmly on the beach. GREAT SHOT.

I have no clue how bodysurfers do it...I know they have special fins, but still...With Andrea, this is amazing: You zeroed-in on an amazing moment, and the waves above, and the biggggg open wave below, make this a Grand Canyon for surfing...You're so attuned to these ocean shots, you get them with your eyes closed. I know you probably go through lots of shots to get the right one, all action photographers do. But you get the perfect shot repeatedly, where I wouldn't get any. A big plunging shot, and great for Andrew. Wonderful piece, Marilyn. Always great when you come back here...

In the 1960s people would get hurt surfing the Wedge so the city father dredged the bottom to tame it. Looks like they may have to dredge again. This is a superb action shot and the crop is outstanding.
