Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I'm with andrea...you do take to these like a duck to water, you just know how and when to shoot...His angle is a perfect foil to the angle of that wave behind him, as well as the slope of the water. My grandfather would say, "a guy could get killed out there..." The light is gorgeous. Fiddle away all you want, you're bringing out the essence of the shot. I have a feeling that you'd be doing this kind of sport if you could. A 100% Marilyn sea shot, and the action is frozen perfectly. Love it.

I love that golden spray! Beautiful work!

This is stunning. I think your water shots are your best work. Perfect composition and the light on the spray is superb. The surfer is almost devoid of detail but you can just make out the joy in his face. Terrific work.
