Description
“I thank Thee first because I was never robbed before; second, because although they took my purse they did not take my life; third, although they took my all, it was not much; and forth, because it was I who was robbed and not I who robbed.” ~ Matthew Henry, 17th century British Puritan minister
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” ~ Marcel Proust
“Every day, think as you wake up: “Today I am fortunate to have woken up. I am alive; I have a precious human life. I am not going to waste it.” ~ The Dalai Lama
Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving I hope your day was a good one and filled with gratitude.

You have a beautiful portrait of these handsome birds! Those three quotes are great, and the last one especially is very meaningful for me.

Lovely lighting and details in his capture Mark!

great quotes, Mark, and they and your eye-grabbing photo are one of many reasons why your gallery is unique and ever-soul-expanding. Love the quotes. And the hues and almost charcoal-like sheen on the turkeys' front feathers is striking and so vivid. With that fan of a tail back there. (Turkeys are some strange looking beasts!) And it's from Cuba---that rounds out everything for us. The quotes and image take us across the globe, even to the high mountains of Tibet. (Though that quote may have been spoken in New Jersey as easily as in Asia, lol.). These are the round-the-world sensibilities we come to expect from you. Love the upload...and that Mathew Henry quote is as moving as the rest.

I hope these turkeys weren't meant to be part of someone's dinner...they are strange-looking birds, but fascinating, with all those lumps and colourful bumps. I didn't realize that those bright red wattles get their colour from blood flow, and when they aren't "excited" they are pinkish white. Excellent portrait of these two, and I love your quotes. We all have so much to be thankful for!

Actually, Denise, they were part of a small menagerie of birds and mammals attached to the restaurant we ate at. More pets than anything else.
