Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Like both pics, spooky.

ooh, I love both of these. The flickr is a wholly discernible car, with wonderful nightmarish postwork, like a vision every driver dreads to have---the ghosts of the road come out to terrify them. This image has blurred what I assume is a car, or maybe several, into wholly abstract blobs and lights. And while we can see a car in there somewhere, it's like a road hallucination one fears having if they've been on the road too long. You broke this into your colonies and concentric shorelines that pulse into space and lose their intensity as they go outwards. It's like a measurement of heat or energy in a physics lab. It's beautiful, Andrea. And those stray lights on the left are a wonderful balance. Terrific work on this. A real transformation of the exotic and strange sight of streets in deep night...

I love both of these; it's exactly how I see things at night, unfortunately. Good thing I'm not driving much after dark these days! Beautiful!!!

HA! I see the ghost. Great result. I hate driving in the dark and even more, when it is raining. I kind of see everything in 2D so it will be a black board with stars on that are moving. I "Inner videocard" will have to work in double speed :-)

Very creative & appealing abstract. I see it as an amoeba-like blob (remember that movie with a very young Steve McQueen?) that has swallowed a bunch of lights...

Superb capture and post work Andrea. God bless.

Oh yes, the ectoplasm was really flowing that night. A fabulous abstract as is the flickr image. I definitely see one or more ghosties on the right side.

Super looking photos and postwork of the glaring night lights..
This one looks like your driver is running into a ghost indeed !
