Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very nice capture of this old bridge!

helle was joking about lame titles (for her wonderful "Meteors" image), but aren't titles supposed to say what the picture is? "Bridge" is just what this is. But! You got an angle here that pulls us in with centrifugal force, and I love the perspective lines. And the city is all leveled with the top railing---the piece packs everything into those perspective lines. And I see some Andrea treatment throughout the image: You mix and match so effectively with postwork, ie, postworking this, leaving that alone...Formally, a dramatic sweep; linearly too. And visually it pulls us right into it. A real delight, andrea, with your postwork sneaking into the shot wherever it can take hold. The municipal authorities are thinking, "damn! She's infiltrated yet another portion of our fair city..." A delightful exploration.

I don't know if you can really call this urban; having been there after having been in London it doesn't really live up to the label! Gritty and grungy, yes; I think that comes from being over the tracks, and anything to do with trains ends up a bit grungy. But in reality, in comparison, it's a lovely and very country sort of feeling around there, and I'd give anything to be able to live there! Love the postwork, and great eye!

Grubby indeed and I see the owner has put his name on it. You capture the feeling very well.

Well I am guessing time and weather has played a big part here.
Great shot, thanks for sharing Andrea.
