You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Your feather is ablaze with intense color & contrasts boldly with the equally intense background. Very creative work...

It's always a pleasure to see birds approaching the houses, become less fearful ... unfortunately, our neighbors have cats .... Superb colors, excellent capture and pw, Brigitte!

Beautiful artwork!!! Very artistic, as always! Enjoy your spring weather! We were soaked from rain and struggled against a strong wind yesterday, and saw many umbrellas flying high! We only have a few sparrows and pigeons that land on our balcony and, yes, they are messy, but very sympathetic, so we do not mind at all. I hope that you can capture a few of your beautiful visitors with your camera and share with us. Waiting... Hugs!

As we say in the States: "Now that's what I'm talkin' about!" I love this image. It almost looks like a scientific study of a feather, in infrared or something like it. Again, you've taken an everyday object and turned it into a wholly transformed thing, filled with energy and vibrance. I second Claude (photosynthesis): It's ablaze with intense color and contrasts, with an equally intense background...The purples and reds, against those blues in the background, are the best. "The bee's knees," as they said in the 1920's. (That stands for the "B's and E's"---ie, the Beginnings and Ends. The best, in other words.) What a vibrant image---and the curved lines on the left are like a rush of energies pouring into the image. Whoosh, I love this!

Beautiful shot!

You need not post pictures of the other evidence behind, as far as making a pillow one word Bird Flu, well that's two words but pictures would be nice.

Lovely Brigitte. I too have never replaced my animals when they died. They were like family to me, but I need a break if that makes sense.

Boldly going where no feather has gone before, Captain James T Feather is about to be absorbed by the insidious purple hole...how painful...EEECK ! LOL

The legend of the Phoenix is found all over the world. It is a bird identified with the sun and resurrection. Every 500 years it burns to ashes and is reborn from those ashes. http://monsters.monstrous.com/story_phoenix.htm It looks like you have one visiting you. Some superb post work. Very cool.

Thank you very much Mark, for the link and what a good read, I've never known the origin of this fable from Greek Mythology.

What a beautiful photo, it really does look like it is burning up !
Fantastic post work, the background really makes this feather stand out.
Lucky you---- we are in Winter Mode here---- however it has been quite mild for this time of year.
P.S.
Sorry for your loss.
It is always difficult to get another pet when one dies.
Gone but not forgotten, may your beloved cat Monkey RIP.

Your feather have sunlight in it in the way you shows us its beauty, BB-chen. So clear the construction, and coming up from your hot background it looks like it's coming to us right away. Please sent us some more of this, so we can become something to protect us here in the cold. And, it would be nice to see some of your feathered friend!!!
