Creation Date: November 18, 2015 "A dancer begins her morning warm-up routine on the roof of her apartment building in the city." Notes: I created the first version of this artwork back in 2011 as a Xmas gift for my dancer cousin. It was a much more simple artwork back then and my skills have vastly improved in the past four years so I should hope I could create something better now. :) This new artwork has much more detail with a smoother appearance and better postwork effects. Looking back at the old artwork with fresh eyes, I thought it looked too flat and lacking of detail so when I created this new version my main goals were to create a sense of depth and to add much more detail. I think I accomplished both. I mainly just wanted to keep the theme of the dancer on the rooftop in the city at sunrise while everything else was fair game. I've never tried using lens-flare effects in one of my artworks before but I think they worked out quite well for this one. I'm glad I decided to revisit this artwork, I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. Tech Notes: I ended up creating a brand new scene rather than using anything from the old scene and that was after spending an hour finding the old scene on my backup hard drives! I used IDL for the lighting with Colm's Render Studio 2014 light sets to create the sun type lights though I can't remember exactly which set or how heavily I changed the settings to get what I needed. The depth of field was rendered inside of Poser. This was my first render using Poser 11 Pro! In postwork I adjusted the color with a variety of layer styles, Photoshop actions, filters, and other such tricks of the trade. I also added the lens-flare effects (my first time adding such effects to one of my artworks which took a lot of trial and error) and added a border. Since I started from an artwork I had already finished (even if I ripped it apart and basically started over) it took me about four days of continuous work to complete this artwork.
