Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Superb POV. The diagonal alignment works brilliantly. I love the blurred lines and their colors.

re this 'failing', it depends on what you're after: If you wanted a stop-motion capture, this isn't it, of course; but if you wanted the feeling of a rushing dog, you got it. I love the rush of his surroundings (I'm wondering how you did that: Usually, in a motion-blur shot, the stationery parts are stationery; you must've been moving your camera to keep up with Rosie!). The ground becomes a big fleece blanket, here, with bright green-yellow accents. It's like combed wool. And you captured a dog running---even R's fur is flowing backwards. You know, bottom line, I think that you have such a grounded and deeply embedded visual sense, that you'll make even a "failing" image into a vibrant and magnetic one, because your inner eye won't allow you to do otherwise. I really like this, Andrea. And your flickr version? Postworked into a motion-rush apparition! I love it.

I love the sense of action and movement caught in the blur of the pavement! I'd say challenge well accomplished!

If you did a little write up saying how Rosie is the representation of our culture's rush to complete everything, or some such blah blah blah rot, you could sell this for a nice price! :P I love the feeling of motion. Nicely done!
