I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

She looks pretty good here Rod. I think a major sticking point that people are going to have with Superfly is the time to render. I'm used to the time it takes to do realistic light renders in Vue and now Reality, but I think most Poser users are going to think this is wrong, or they are doing something wrong. It's going to take some experimenting to see where the point of diminished returns is met. Quality vs. time. Also, lighting set up will be quite different with Superfly. The less lights the better. If it's an outdoor scene, you may want just sunlight and IBL, AO and HDR spheres may be not necessary. A new approach to lighting set up will be a must. Hopefully I can add some insight as I explore Poser 11 Pro. FYI, you can hide the backwall of the new ground prop in the material room.

G4 looks pretty good here. I would be totally lost from the sound of the new Poser 11 Superfly render.

You sure went all out on the work on this, Rod. Do love the flesh tone and pose on G4. Love that render in which I never heard of. Not sure if it's in p9 like I have. Does sound like you have mixed feelings on your new version of poser. Will be waiting for more.
calico_jester
this, my friend, is an inspiration in many ways... she seems fit for action !

She looks great, Rod. I really need to take another look into Gen 4 figures. I never should have taken that time off from buying models last year. I feel more far behind than ever. (Made jump from Generation 3 to Genesis 2 a couple of months ago.)

Im glad you are the guinea pig for P 11 lol, I know they are really trying to compete with IRAY but I cant see the money for the upgrade especially with the genesis figures being so far advanced now. will wait for new updates from you =)

Great image! G4 looks sweet! though I'm not to sure about this new Poser?... I'll wait to see what you and some of the others have to say about it!

I'm strictly a DAZ/IRAY person so I have no incite what-so-ever on your situation, Rod. You're images in your story do not seem like they need a photo-realistic finish to the final render so why go to the new slower render engine? Your postings always look like they should look, in my eyes anyway. Plus the added time on renders can be a deal killer!!! Don't totally abandon the old ways and use the new technology where you think it is needed. Just a thought.

No worries there.... PP 2014 is still gonna be my main go-to, especially given the fact I render those complex TNA scenes at 3360 X 2100. It would take forever to render one of those in superfly! It take me long enough to get these done as it is... LOL

Thanks for the info Rod and the product listings! I will be needing that monokini me thinks. That is something to think about seeing as I usually render 3500x3500 at 300dpi, but having had Vue crash my computer several times with populated ecosystem terrains I guess that investment in a video card upgrade might not be such a bad idea.

Yeah, I'm thinking seriously about first, rebuilding this older quad-core machine. I have Vue 10 on it, and it actually does a pretty good job with it. But I want to upgrade to the newest version of Vue... And I want to start messing with DAZ and Iray... I'm also considering getting the bit & pieces and building a new machine for Vue and DS. When I'm gonna find time for all this is the 64000 dollar question! :-D

She looks simply great!!!!

well...I'm dizzy after reading through the comments...I wish I knew the first thing about all this..."superfly" (all I can think of is a grade b horror flick from 1960, lol). But your description actually gives me a glimpse into the complexity of making these images, and the frustrations when things don't go well. Not knowing all that goes into this piece, I'll say that, visually, your pose is really fine, her right leg is positioned very deftly (on toes), you've clothed her very well, her gaze is nicely off to the opposite angle of her torso, and the overall feel is of a mature pinup while also having a playful comic feel to it. I assume not an easy combination in any medium. I like the mosaic floor and planted background too. Fine model work, Rod; and as for the new Poser, I hope all of you can work it out---I mean, if you have to go back to the previous version, is that a disaster for all of you? I can't even imagine what this takes...

Great pin-up !!! Thanks for the Poser 11 info. I have been resisting the plunge into 11 until I hear more about it. All though, curiosity will probably win out, before too much longer !!!
