Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

ooo, as Andrea says...it looks like the Bates Motel (from Psycho)---very moody, dark and ominous. Fine capture of the deep dark mood of fog, and of a place that seems to hold lots of secrets inside. You show your usual boldness in letting so much of the image sink into shadow. We look from under a big dark canopy...Spooky, foreboding and fun.

Yep, that looks like Forks. It snowed the day we were there. We had a friend's thirteen year old niece with us so, of course, we had to tramp through the damp muddy forest down to the beach. We saw all the attractions from the movies and then turned around and drove home in the dark through more snow. Ah, fun times. This is a great atmospheric image. Excellent composition. It really takes me back.

You know, when I was living in Port Angeles a million years ago, Forks was sort of a local joke. I guess they got the last laugh, huh? :P
