Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I like how you've organized this magnificent floral displays, Andrea. With those succulent in the middle. It's a feast for the eyes; and I would like to see all this in real life. On the bottom left, I think it's a begonia, this is definitely a very special recording and flower. It looks even like another world, somewhere in the tropics, or something similar. :)

many beautiful flowers here, Andrea, and many of the shots have wonderful shadows and subtle hues---the middle two on top, the second from the top on the right, etc. The third from the top on the right has beautiful texture and light, and the center shot has beautiful modulations of hue, light and shade. Everything here is shot with care, and this is a real late fall shot, flowers still in bloom, but thinning out; and the branches, leaves and blooms all beginning to fade. There's beauty in that. A very delicate group of shots, and nice because it tells us that November has its own unique beauty; and that, even as plant life fades, there's beauty in that. A touching display of nature in its quieter moments...

OH Gosh, your garden is still a paradise in my opinion, when it can have all these sweet flowers. Even pansies, which we can only have in the spring. Awesome, Andrea :-)
