Description
Back to Prague after a brief detour to Medford, Oregon (sorry about the jet lag, Mark)...
A fountain at the Palace Gardens featuring a statue of a young Triton, who, in Greek mythology, was the son of Poseidon & Amphitrite, the god & goddess of the sea. According to Wikipedia, "Like his father, Poseidon, he carried a trident. However, Triton's special attribute was a twisted conch shell, on which he blew like a trumpet to calm or raise the waves. Its sound was such a cacophony, that when loudly blown, it put the giants to flight, who imagined it to be the roar of a dark wild beast.". A closer view of the statue to follow...

your beautiful images more than made up for the jet lag, lol...Another beautiful architectural and sculptural shot from you, with your signature stand out hues on the important elements here...that arched stairwell stands out beautifully; and the greens around it---and in front of it---are also deep and so-present. Your pov gives lots of space around the fountain, and the contrasts of those beautiful amber-beiges with all that green is wonderful. Even the blue bench and garbage pail has a total presence here. Beautiful shot, with that dark stairwell beckoning us back into its lair...

Those stairs are most inviting!

It's a lovely statue, but my eye is drawn to that design above the stairs, a fresco? mosaic? It looks quite old in style. You are making me really long to visit this city!
