Excellent. Nice metaphor with the rock. Life is full of unintended consequences. Many, many things which people think are 'good' deeds or 'good' truly produce bad things. The Chinese are supposed to have had a saying 'if you save a man's life you are responsible for all the evil he does'. Aristotle said that virtue always lies in the middle between two extremes of a behavior in his Nichomachean ethics, one of the greatest classics of ethical philosophy ever written.
