My corporeal form lives with my wonderful wife and six eccentric cats in beautiful Sedgefield, but my dreaming body is frequently elsewhere, exploring the fractal universe and marveling at nature's chaos. I love traveling to places that exist only as mathematical constructs on my computer and bringing back snapshots that sometimes remind me of the real world (whatever that means), sometimes of metamagical worlds we can visit only in our imaginations. I trained as a biologist and run a small company specialising in science publishing - writing, editing, illustrating and typesetting. For 3D world building I use Vue, Daz Studio and Poser, but I've also used Bryce since version 2 and done some work with Terragen, Carrara and Groboto. For technical illustration I use mainly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of Renderosity, and to everyone who has kindly commented on my images or added my works as a favourite, thank you for that too. Craig.

Love the misty atmosphere. Great work!

wow, Craig, a primal landscape with a misty atmosphere, and the rider and cat being the lone creatures anywhere in sight...a pre-time vision and very well done. The mounds are made of tons of flat (I assume) sedimentary stones, and they make a kind of "wall" formation everywhere; there are growths in them, tufts of green here and there, but we definitely are looking at a primal landscape. The air and light is misty/hazy, which only enhances the primal-ness. And the feline is fierce and I think wearing protective (or warrior-like) gear. And poised for a big leap across that chasm. And the rider---if that's you, btw, may I say, "my how you've changed!"---is a feline-humanoid creature bent over ready for the leap. The rest is---"silence" (as Hamlet says)...a vast grayish sky with hints of mountains in the background, and amorphous clouds. A very moody piece, with lots of mystery, and a beautiful feline about to make a huge leap. Very imaginative mood-making, and the details show your usual keen sense of how nature works. One might think these mounds were once a great city---from the stepped layering of stone after stone. But this could be pure nature. It's just so fascinating how you conceived this long primal expanse...more fine, sensitive work from you.

I think we all feel the same way at some time or other. Having an exotic creature as a mount to ride off to places we'd never go to otherwise.
