I especially like the top three, thought the spider somehow looks like it belongs below it & makes this a single complete composition. I can imagine the top three rainbow abstractions (hard to believe they're pencil, because of the intensity of the colors) being animated - pulsating - as a visual accompaniment to a piece of music - something like Fantasia...

You actually made spiders look quite pretty in those rainbow abstracts, and that's not easy to do. The one below feels quite spiderly and creepy crawly, though he/she does have a rather friendly face. Fun drawings.

I so love the three map-creatures. Yes, the first i thought about, when i saw them were maps, but i can easily see the creatures, so i´ll call the map-creatures :-) Did you know, we call office people walking with a briefcase for Map-animals? (mappedyr) That is because a breafcase is called mappe in Danish and so is theEnglish word "map".. it is also called a Mappe, so I mix your.. .... ahh! never mind :-) And I also love your spider, because it has the perfect pose for a really spider.

So what you are saying is that microorganisms are fractals? Love the freeform figures and intense colors. And who knew a spider could look so friendly?

I only like spiders in drawings or pics, and a great job on creations. Wish I could draw.

More on my brief, but cogent, analyses. What I thought at first were loose rapid sketches of feathers at the top, were actually insects of various species. The bottom I love....a tarantula, somewhat in a daze after a brisk rough rubdown. Creatures from the Black Lagoon.

This is amazing work, Mark! Between you and Tara, I'm becoming inspired to play with some 2D stuff again. I love the colorful renditions of the microorganisms, and the spider is excellent, posed in that upright 'attack' posture. Glad I'm behind him/her!
