I love the manipulations, as you know. She is a good girl to wait, thinking "Come on, Dad, get a move on!" There is a slight air of melancholy to this photo, very wintery.

The effects make the image very ineteresting. It''s almost as if the rain is causing the effect on the camera:) I like the way the puddle (the left part) actually looks a bit like a man's shadow outline, like you might see as a shadow on the floor, but instead made of water. Gives an interesting twist to the image considering the rain you mention:)

Another title for this could be "Waiting for her friend". This is a superb capture. The muted colors and gritty look are wonderful for a winter image. And the Corel work makes it seem as if there is rain on the camera lens. A perfect addition.

Ditto, Andrea, Mark, Helle, etc. And yes (ala Mark), it looks like there is rain on the lens. Love that you did that, where most of us would work like crazy to avoid such a look...The shot itself is very moody, evocative of a cold early or late day. And you have a street with a blank wall on one side, and you've cropped off the other side (right side) so there's real mystery as to where this road is, or what's on it. It seems almost like an alley, in your treatment. And maybe that wall's not 'blank', but just appears so because of your treatment. And it leads to a light at the turn in the road, which is hazed by moisture (actually by your postwork) and also appears mysterious. Then that building at the end, followed by a totally white sky, and preceded by skeletal branches, etc. It's a scene out of film noir: spooky, spy-like, pregnant with the unknown. Cities are filled with sights like this, where---even if they last only a half a block---all life seems to stop, and the mystery behind the city is suddenly all-present. That's what you have here, an image which raises more questions than answers, and where the light at the end of the block helps create those questions. Finally, the one lone life here is your dog, waiting patiently, looking at you. Gives the shot a kind of "asking" feeling...More magic and mystery from you: This is so urban, I can't tell you, and you grab such moments, coax them to perfection, and they're all complete in the end. Beautifully done, Nikolay.

Myterious mood...

Just the right amount of "Corel-ing" in the reflection, so that we see the trees in all their glory, but the rest is more moody. You have just the right touch with this.

The urban life style is reflecting here so honestly in your photo, in it's simplicity and the mood it creates says a lot or little, it depends on, how each of us looks at it and/or where our preferences lay. It's down to Earth and uncomplicated, with the real Winter-chill probably just around the corner, pardon the pun - I mean your warm home, no doubt ! the trees, the street and house lights, the reflections all are part of a fine mystical composition, Nikolay
