Description

Yes, I'm still alive lol. Haven't posted anything in a long time, so I thought I would. Between serious health issues, my jewelry and OOAK art doll making and professional commitments it's been busy. I did this steampunk fantasy portrait of my ex wife and love of my life for her birthday. Yes, we're still close friends and who knows what the future holds. I am her favorite artist. I rather liked the way this turned out. I had no plan, as I usually do. I designed her outfit and hat and modified the hair and just built everything around her. I did know I wanted an ancient oak. As always, hundreds of layers and overlays, effects, some painting and playing, texturing and adjusting colors and saturation. I never seem to be able to do things the easy or normal way. I have to find my own unique way of doing things. It causes difficulties and a lot of extra work, probably, but it also ensures that no one can duplicate my style. A lot of emotion went into this one, and a lot of work. Took me about a month to complete it.
