Description
I found this very good VW engine model on the web and I have been working on making materials and textures for it a while now.
I started out in engineering many years ago and it has always been a passion of mine.
Thanks for looking.
Mike.

Not the most powered engine but the ancestor of the early Porsche engines!

This is modified from the single carb stock engine but it sure brings back memories of dropping mine out of my '65 and '67 bugs back in high school and college. I don't work on cars any more. . . they are just too complicated! (LOL) Great job, Mike.

Yes Dave this isn't the standard engine, it's kinda fun working with it though. The only cars I work on are classics, as you modern cars are too complicated and not fun.

while I had a Subaru Turbo 4 cylinder , I never seen the engine, but I know it was very similar to the VW horizontally opposed engine. I was aware of it's power. great textures on this twin carb VW

The Alfa Romeo Alfasud also had a 4 cylinder Boxer engine although that one was water cooled. The Alfa one was quite a powerful little motor and the Alfasud was a good handling car, shame about the the rust though.

Sweet little engine. That brings back fond memories.

Thanks Dan, glad you like it.

Like the above, that also brings back good (albeit some bad, too!) memories. lol My first car. I think I went through 3 engines till I finally sold it..
Used to love when my 68 Beetle, Metallic Green, hard rack on top, wouldn't start on a hot day!.. haha I used to hand crank the generator there.
Awesome render.

Thanks and I'm glad it brought back some memories for you. My father used to have a 1953 Ford Popular 103E and the starting handle was great for those cold mornings.
