Description

Just a little sketch I made on simple copy paper. Not the best paper to draw on, especially when you use a bit water on it. Ah well, I can always make another. Thanks for having a looksie :-)

lol, Grandma T (Teri)---there are days when I can't draw a straight line either---with or without a ruler. But you've made a very special mushroom sketch, Helle, because you gave all this electricity to the tops of the mushrooms; your lines are finely drawn, and they create an electricity for each of the mushrooms. And the stems are very distinct from each other, and your shadow is rich and varied---I see cross hatch in there, and broader shading, and even some of that moisture. (The moisture is more apparent on the edges, where you created a kind of 'wash') It's a really intense drawing, and the washes surround it in a soft border...Beautiful work. I hope you do more. As for the paper, yeah, if you're gonna use water, you'd do better with thicker or less wrinkle-able paper: But really, if you look at the drawings of the masters, you'll see all kinds of wrinkles and shredded surfaces...they didn't care, they just sketched wherever they were and didn't think twice about the paper...So you're in good company with these wrinkles. I wouldn't worry about it. If you go to a museum, and look at the drawings closely, you'll see wrinkles and imperfections galore. It's just paper, it doesn't behave the way we want it to...
