I think this looks sharper than a radiosity image. When you use radiosity you don't have total control over lighting because you never know what areas will be lit indirectly and how much. I am starting to see that hitting the radiosity button in the render dialog doesn't make your image an instant piece of art.

curiousity: When you're using so many lights, do you place them yourself - from the top of your head, are you using a pre render in Raydiosity to get an idea, or do you have a referrence picture. Exelent work, I am in awe.

hiphop4ever: It takes more than a week (mostly render tests). It's a medium position between my job and my hobby. I hope 3D will be my full dedication anyday. Yes I learned myself. No C4D schools in Spain (really almost not 3D schools here).

pingo: Yeah, this is just the most fun stage in the process. I never "copy" a lighting from a single photograph. I like first to see many photographs and drawings related to the thing I have in mind, then I do my own abstraction based on this documentation (a bit of each one) then I get fun when I imagine the main light source and his indirect lighting (bouncing). Unlike the radiosity engine, when manually I can use the color bleeding and strenght I wish and not only the "real" bleeding/strenght so I can give a most artistical aspect than radiosity engine.

Hi I'm new here and an admirer of yours pointed me to your works. I'm not good enough to even comment but I want to say I know what I like, and this is stunning. The light is so welcoming and it beckons everyone to gather at the table for some coffee and conversation. smiles Thank you for your art.
