Description

I'm posting a photo tonight from our trip back in September just to let everybody know I'm still alive and have not been kidnapped by aliens. This photo was taken at a rest area just as you enter the Missouri River Valley in the middle of South Dakota. The spiral structure is actually a sculpture representing a teepee. Taking a cue from Tara (auntietk), I took this shot looking straight up from inside the sculpture – which is large enough to cover a small patio and several picnic tables. I also want to apologize for not being around as much over the last few weeks. In addition to things being extremely stressful and busy at work (we just found out today that one third of our three-man team has found another position and will be leaving at the end of the year), but I have not been feeling well the last few weeks. Things have been pretty stressful, and to be honest I've not really been sleeping very well. In addition to the big tax bill we got from the IRS last week, this week I've been battling an incident of identity theft. Fortunately no one got into my credit cards or bank account, they just hijacked an ancient account I had at Newegg.com, and ordered something on somebody else's credit card. When I saw the emails from Newegg I called them immediately and tried to have the order canceled, and have my account immediately deleted. They told me the order would be canceled and my account would be blocked so nothing else could be ordered on it but throughout the day I kept getting emails indicating that the order had gone through and the item had been shipped. I got an invoice with an address in Anaheim California, so I immediately contacted the Anaheim Police Department and hopefully the person responsible will be arrested. Beyond that I've been fighting with NewEgg, because for some reason, they don't want to permanently remove my account and purge my information from their system. I guess my next step will be contacting the California Atty. Gen.'s office, and probably going on to NewEgg's Facebook page and spreading the story of what happened to me, and their reluctance to abide by my wishes. As you can see I've not had much time for creativity, but I've still been working on a few things. I have one big project that I'm trying to get done by Christmas, but I don't know if that's going to happen. It's just a little gift for all my friends here at Renderosity and also it Fantasy Attic. If it isn't done by Christmas it will be done soon afterwards. As far as the T.N.A. story goes, the girls are on a short hiatus, but they will be back shortly. There is still a lot of story to tell. If you've read through this entire epistle, I thank you very much! LOL! Over the weekend I will be attempting to get caught up on comments – I know I'm way behind on commenting on all your wonderful artwork and stories. Hopefully over the holidays things will calm down a little bit and I can kinda get back into the groove. I sincerely hope every one of you has a wonderful Christmas holiday season however you celebrate it, and a happy and prosperous new year. Thank you all for your continued friendship and support over the years.

Great capture of this artwork, Rod! impressive to say the least.

Sorry to hear of the issues with NewEgg. If nothing else, hit them with a lawsuit.... ;-}; that will wake them up.

Queen Zlata and Xin Xin have decided on who's coming over to visit you.... Look for her

Hope you get well soon!

Oh! .....I thought for sure you were kidnapped by those snake hair alien beauties, and you were beamed onto an iceberg with one of them that was frozen (the aliens knowing their queen would be starving and needing a delicious snack after being frozen for so long) and then you summoned the T.N.A. girls to send the drones out to rescue you!.....................and after that failed Girl4 singled handedly smothered the snake haired alien to death with her ........... Maracas.

I guess that was a wicked nightmare!!! Good to know you are not dead and are in South Dakota taking ....... really kewl photos?!?!?

But then again.......... they transported you to ........ South Dakota?

glad your not victim of the x files, Rod. so i hear the g men are going to require registration on your cool drones. and real bummer drag about that hack. sounds like your geting hit in more ways then a few. my work also is the pits my friend. love the view of your shot my friend. and hey does Tina need to come over and give you a lap dance for some cheering up? and your always creative Rod, and that is no lie my friend. your T.N.A, inspired the creation of Tina herself and my Zlata cartoons. take care.. Steve.

Yeah, anything over a half-pound that flies under remote control has to be registered. Which means that - like guns - only the law-abiding citizens will register. I don't think someone who intends to try flying hacksaw blades into a prison with a Phantom is likely to register it. Apparently our lawmakers (still) aren't smart enough to figure this out...

I would bet that the teepee looks much bigger when large :), but you are familiar with geometry...

Scams, seasonal delusions of a world gone mad and no tweety birds singing in the brush can make for a forlorn Winter, however Star Wars latest epic seems to be a resounding success. An outfit based in Miami, Florida (support squad) copied my credit card # for a short period during a trial installation of DISH network and began charging me $9.99 per month for their expertise, should it ever be needed. After six months of leech prying, I finally cancelled the credit card and left them as flotsam in Miami Bay.

As with many others here, I have learned to respect your ability to claw thru whatever dung pile might be thrown at you, so read a few verses from Meher Baba, take your taxes to someone who will expense the charges and eat things that make you happy.

Merry Christmas, my friend, and a very Happy New Year !

That said, try a little (10 mg ) of melatonin for sleep zzzzz fini

one of the nice things about coming to your gallery is how many of your fans get really involved in your uploads. A lot of infectious energy from your fans. I was fixed on your work situation and the ID theft, so I forgot about your health matters, and that IRS charge. You've had your hands full! I wish you resolution with all this. And re NewEgg, I know of places that won't expunge accounts, even after theft has taken place; and you should definitely make it public, so 1) others don't trust N.Egg until they shape up, and 2) so N.Egg stops acting this way. In an article a year back, a major defense dept cyber expert was asked if he thinks there's any hope stopping hackers. He answered, "basically, we're f-----d." From an expert! THAT'S encouraging...But we'll find a solution, it's just gonna take time. Hackers are brilliant, and they do it from their living rooms. Sorry it happened to you, esp now.

I love this shot. For its dark tonal values and the sharpness of the beams. It's very articulate. On paper, one might think this pov wouldn't give a great shot, but in the actual photo---full size? It's striking. I love it. You have very fine tonal values in your shots, and your detail is always dead on. I hope everyone zoomed this, as it's a beaut, full size.

And it's fine that you can't comment much---your life right now is a deluge, and it takes enough effort just to manage that. And if you do want to upload, feel free to post old things, archives, doodles, whatever. (Tax bills. I'm not joking: I did manipulations on a tax form! Here's the link---and you don't have to look or comment, it's just if you're in the mood for some tax silliness...https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/tax-art/2526185/) But whatever you do, take your time. I hope all of it will get easier with the new year. Happy holidays to you too, Rod, and all your loved ones. I hope 2016 is a much brighter year!

This is an interesting shot!... I guess the girls will have to intervene and hide you some where.... Then again, I don't think that would be a good idea... who knows what would happen then.

I do all this gets worked out and peace returns, I for one can't wait to see more of the adventures of the TNA girls.. have a good one!

Drat! Shortly after getting my credit card I received an eek-mail that my order for Viagra at 69.99 was registered and on its way. I printed the eek-mail out, went to the bank with it and requested the credit card destroyed. I also attached my new card to a bank account with 0.00 balance on it. So NOW they could try all they wanted to, and get nothing. With a 0.00 balance, they won't get a penny and go looking elsewhere. I sure hope you get that account deleted! Write down the number of hours this has taken you, then present them with the bill (lost work time!).

Sad to hear the stress is wearing you thin. May I suggest getting treatment from a good, reputable (medical, if available) massage therapist. As for working with the T.N.A. folks, take it easy. We all understand. We WANT you doing 'em, but not at the expense of your health. A sick Rod means NO fun stuff. So, we're biding our time until you're well again. By the way, perhaps you can turn this credit card mess into a side story for the T.N.S.? That may be some therapy!

Rooting for ya! Keep up the good work! :-)

A great POV for this capture but I am sorry to hear about all your troubles. I think that would be the worst thing to get your identity stolen. I do hope things start looking up for you soon and that you and your family have a happy Christmas and new year. 😄

Bummer, dude! We're having to replace our main credit card ... AGAIN! ... seems like we just did that a year or two ago. Somebody charged groceries in Florida, and fortunately our credit card company sent a text to see if it was okay with us. So now we've got to deal with changing our card info with everybody, which is a royal PIA, as you know!

It's always something.

Great picture, btw! :) I like the angle!
