Description
Okay my friends here's something a little different....
This cartoony sketch of G4 was done entirely on my iPad in an app called Adobe Sketch. You can actually draw with your finger and/or one of those cheap rubber tipped styluses. I used the stylus mostly because it's a little bit more accurate than trying to figure out where the line will show up when using the tip of your finger. Of course, even with the stylus it can be a little bit tricky… It is most definitely not like drawing on a Cintique! The rubber tip on the stylus is about a quarter inch in diameter.
Anyway, I had fun doing this little doodle of G4, and while it won't be the mainstay of my creativity, I'm enjoying playing around with this little app. Between it and Photoshop I'm getting enthused about doing a little bit of 2-D work again.
I've been feeling better over the last week, and although things at work haven't improved much – and probably won't for the foreseeable future – I'm handling it okay. At least it's not as bad as the position I had a little over a year ago working three rotating shifts, and not knowing which end was up most of the time.
The girls will soon be back from their short hiatus, and the adventures will continue! I'm still working on a little surprise for all my friends here and at Fantasy Attic. I had hoped to have it ready by Christmas, but I don't think that's going to happen. It should be ready sometime over the weekend, though. There are going to be a few more fun surprises in the near future too. Stay tuned..
Anyway I hope everybody has a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate it, and a great holiday season in any event. May you all find peace, happiness, light, and love, and May 2016 be the best year ever!

It's an off and on thing with me..... Mostly off..... LOL Every once in a while I manage to get reasonably close on faces. You're seeing a rare event here! LOL

Do a search in the App Store for 'Adobe' - you should see a bunch of Adobe Apps. I don't know if it will work without an Adobe CC account, though.

That sounds like fun! I have a Wacom drawing pad I haven't used for years because I lost the pen now I found it not sure if it's compatible with my new system windows 10 I'll have to check for drivers, I had windows 98 back then with 333 mhz and 16 mb ram and wasn't in to 3D back then Except for Bryce 3D that was like watching paint dry.

as an old college friend would say, "duuuuuuuude! Like, duuuuuuuude!" (That stood for a lotta things, trust me.) You did this on an iPad? With those floppy stylus heads? Duuuuuuuude! I couldn't do that with pen and paper! You haven't lost your 2D, sir, this is delightrul. (Ok, that's "delightFul": I left in the typo because my first efforts at comments are filled with those. I have to edit every comment, because I can't TYPE!) And, somewhere above, you were saying this face is a 'rare event': But we saw some of your faces before, and you do them so well, as this proves. You got terrific shading too, along with colors in the shading. (Look at the purple above her eyes.) Delightful, Rod, you can post 2D anytime you want, whether made on an iPad, the back of a gas bill, or on the back of some guy passing by. Oh, and I love your signature: We usually see your stamp; but this is a true stylus/finger iPad signature, and I love it. I'm glad you're feeling better, and I hope you get back to 100% soon, despite the craziness of your job's demands. And I wish you and Jo, and all else in your life, a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for the terrific spirit, joy, wit, sharp eye on absurdity, and beautiful work you bring here. You're one of those people who keep this place shining.
