Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

You are too modest, Andrea. You capture natural fractals all the time whenever you focus in on lichen colonies or fungi. This is a fantastic image. Your composition and post work have created a wonderful abstract for Mies.

Perfect shapes and colors for a birthday dedication!

yes, it has the shape of Jacomina's fractals, and the swirl of her energies too. Zoomed, this is a big splashy abstract, and the forms all converge on the center like a tornado. I really like how you have it over a whited-out background, so it seems to float...Happy Birthday, Jacomina, and many, many more! This is a big glass jewel, Andrea, and it's just right for Jacomina. (When I first saw it, I was going to say, man, some of your perfume bottles are wild!)

When I saw the thumb I too had the idea, this is one of your amazing perfume bottles, and you did a magic trick, a very successful act I must call it. Your result, as the color namely, would be right for such a surprise show, Andrea. Haha, but you're always make a show full of surprises, with your great imagination, doodles and ideas. I'm really gladdened by this beautiful warm red color. And it also reminds me of a dancing heart. Then, it must be a heart full of love, right?
Sorry for responding that late, it's due to the flu.
