Tara, what a gorgeous looking vase. You know how much I love vases :-) This is absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much, my friend. A perfect dedi. We had a wonderful time with the family and they all went home about an hour ago. Now it only left to clean up the house, but NOT TODAY :) I am really done now :) Thank you again for this wonderful dedi :)))

you know what I first thought, when you said this old pot reminded you of Helle? I thought of Helle writing: "An old pot? That's what comes to your mind when you think of me??? Pardon me???" I know what you meant, lol. I think her homepage had a drawing of such a vase originally. And she creates vases and urns galore, in her many Middle Eastern-type paintings and sketches. It is perfect for her. Theseus killed the Minotaur, and was a hero as a result: I imagine there are some health-conditions Helle would like to 'kill', to get rid of, to make her life easier. I hope she succeeds! Another fine museum capture, with light across the top and the rest sunken in shadow, as if sunken in the ages it comes from. (You and Bill excel at museum captures.) And it's cropped to make the vase the 'star'. A perfect image for Helle: Happy Birthday Helle, and many, many more. I hope you had a fine birthday! And fine job, Tara. (These kinds of vases inspired Keats' famous line, "beauty is truth, truth beauty---that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know".) It's so nice to see you posting regularly again.

A great, detailed photo of this wonderful antiquity, Tara! So perfect..

And a Happy Birthday to Helle!

It always amazes me how precise the artwork is on these historic treasures. And these folks didn't even have Blender, Zbrush, Poser or Photoshop.... Just a leg-powered potter's wheel, and primitive paints - which obviously had plenty of staying power..

Wow, that one has some amazing detail to it! And I misread the title as "Thesaurus", and was imagining the Minotaur choking to death on big words...sorry, I'm a weird person sometimes. Superb shot and a perfect dedi for the birthday girl!
