Description
This is my dear friend, Audrey, who has walked with the dogs and me each weekend for years, and is sadly now in a nursing home. She suddenly developed cancer of the pancreas, after leaving her home of many years for a sheltered flat. I think the stress may have hastened it.
But she is comfy, warm. eating, lucid and still doing the crossword, and old enough to be my mother!

a very touching portrait, one of many from you of these wonderful older people in or out of nursing homes. She does seem to know Rosie well, and your story makes her all the more dear to us. Beautiful pose, and you postworked the background while leaving the foreground alone---something you do seamlessly. Very touching, as is your flickr version. I'm so sorry to hear of Audrey's diagnosis! You have mentioned her so often over the years, and I've always enjoyed the thought of the two of you walking the dogs, talking, and enjoying the day together. I love this picture of Audrey and Rosie hanging out. It's one you'll be glad to have, I'm sure. Audrey has such a lovely smile, and a good heart.
