Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Ah the fur kids. I have the same personality differences in my wild fur kids. Some set out to unstuff and destroy. Others guard and some spend their entire time with me carrying a stuffed animal to suck on.
Any way you look at it, these kids give us that unconditional love.
These pups are blessed to have such a great mom!

Lovely image. Fritz is a great model! I My Cookie used to destroy all her toys, until I gave her one rubber duck that resisted all her attacks. Now Duck is her favorite toy!

Great capture - hope you had a great Christmas, Andrea! When Mr. Missy was younger he stole and played with my socks. ;o)

great shot of Fritz, posing with his friends. Lots of brown and golden hues, really well composed Andrea. You use throws very well in your dog portraits. Even the dark background is so-well placed. And Fritz definitely doesn't look like he's about to demolish those pets. The shot of Rosie is delightful too, checking out the stuffed pets, sniffing around. Another beauty from your dog-photo collection (which I'm going to come over and steal one day). (And when you say these toys are from your neighbor's dog, 2 things come to mind: One, if the dog played with them, your dogs must go wild figuring out where the scent came from. And two, it sounds as if the Jack Russel came over, knocked on the door, and said, "your guys wanna take these? I got tons of 'm at home..." And then he walked home...)
