Description
One of my first shots---a 2 MP camera! Sunrise, Lake Michigan...
I'm catching up today, and hope to get you all by tuesday. And I'm going by gallery this time, as it allows me to really get into your work (rather than skip around). I'll get to you all by Wednesday.
After that, I'm gonna have to step down, as I need to work, get therapies for my arm, and write. (I'm going back to my writing.) So I'll be here less regularly for a while. I don't like that, but I don't know another way when time presses...
But I'll come back to comment. I'll have to comment on 'selected' images, because of time. So know that if I don't comment on everything, it's only because of that. (I see everything regardless, that I can promise...)
Finally, thanks for your wonderful support this fall: I've not been here this intensely since I joined in 2008, and it's just been grand. Thank you so much for everything people!
Lots of hugs and inspiration,
Mark
better zoomed (even at 2 MP)

An awesome capture with fabulous vitality Mark. You are right when you say you have to step back a little otherwise you get nothing else done. I will miss you. I have missed all the RR people and the inspiration they give me really is immeasurable. I hope you get some writing done and that we see you post sometimes.

This is absolutely spectacular, Mark! A sunrise like this is worth getting up early for indeed.
You'll be missed, my friend, but I completely understand.. I think we need at least 36 hours per day - I know I need at least 48 lately. So many things to do and only so much time available for them all. Especially when you're working - a job really interferes with the good stuff! LOL
Drop by when you can, my friend!

This is a fantastic scene, so powerful. You will be missed, but you have to do what you have to do. I wish you the very best. Good luck.

Mark, call the fire department, because this sky is on fire - if there were a sky in Dante's Inferno, I think it would look like this.
I have to echo the sentiments of all the others that your thoughtful & passionate comments will be missed. I wish you much success & satisfaction with whatever writing project you will be embarking on & quick & complete healing process with the therapy on your arm...

GREAT IMAGE!

What a lovely photo, Mark. It is so wonderful to capture a moment like this to have forever. Sunsets are so spectacular and so momentary, and that's why they are so special. The sun on the horizon is an amazing sight. Hope you are feeling better and I look forward to sharing a new year of creativity with you.

Two megapixels you say! You had me fooled, I thought it was at least 12 mps. Fabulous results nevertheless, with the high contrast melange of blood red clouds hovering over the rising or setting sun, Mark. I thought of Ares/Mars, the god of war, when I first saw it. Sorry to see you depart, but you have higher priorities to tend to, not the least your ailing arm. Good luck and take care. It's been a pleasure.

Magnificent photo! It looks like the sky is on fire. I LOVE sunsets and this is stunning.

I've enjoyed seeing so much of your work while you've been here, even though my time here has been sporadic. I've seen it all, and it's been a real treat! It's a drag that I was gone while you were here, 'cause it would have been fun to follow each other around with comments. :P Take good care, my friend, and I'll talk to you soon.

Now it looks like a very nice oil painting Mark. Take care, my friend.

Really great photos! Red tones give an almost palpable drama, which tends to a yearning, searching for something lost (perhaps a love) and never recovered!

A new day dawning and a New Year's day like no other, you know you could have fooled us all by telling it was a very expensive camera, that you used and added some very clever Photoshop manipulation - and I would have believed it ! It looks so dynamic, sumptuous and dramatic and not to forget surreal, it just blows my mind - that's all !
So, it's back to some more mundane things now ? like writing, hmm... but that's sounds exciting too - and let me add - enjoy your sabbatical (I wish I could write a book - if I could, I would !!! but after a month, I would still be on page one, with constant re-writings)

Haha, this is almost a cracking red, which however can't resist the sun with its great turnout. A beautiful piece of nature in all its facets, with depths and heights, an unmistakable phenomenon, defined by you, Mark. What award is up to you, calmness, tranquillity,, and to be taken more time for yourself, so that your therapy will soon splendiferous and it will freshen up. Listen to your body, dear Marc, and be kind to yourself. A lot of joy, and love to guide your path, also in 2016, as always. Jacomina, who still is in her head answering your site mail
