Description

More from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The monetary value of the artwork in just this one room of the museum must be staggering, but the incredible craftsmanship & artistry that went into pieces like this is what impressed me...

It is a gorgeously intricate piece, and very well done too; the plumes on the horse's head are particularly nice. But I do wonder about his turban--it reminds me of Jiffy-Pop popcorn!

My mind is boggled. What an amazing piece ... and the amount of money that must have gone to make it in the first place ... talk about the one percent!

re the monetary value, this piece needs WC Fields muttering "a mere trifle, my little chickadee..." Your capture envelops it in a deep glow which surrounds it in a halo. You know how to handle gold. And there are reflections in the glass; and there are a few human 'apparitions'---one in particular from a blouse, scarf, or something like that---that are like bits of spirit. Very sweet imagery, Claude. And the sculpture glistens in your treatment, just as the sculptor would want it too. As for the Jiffy-Pop turban (Denise), it would be great if the plaque read, "...can be used as a popcorn popper too..." Another eye grabber in this series.
