My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
Â
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!Â

I really think what needs to be done is for EVERYONE to attack this on multiple levels...
1 EVERYONE raise 17 kinds of hell in the forums. Every day. Ask them daily "When are you going to FIX all these problems?" 2 If they don't respond, or come back with the usual "I'll look into it," "We'll pass it along to the programmers," or any of the other asinine put-offs they reply with, then.... 3 EVERYONE stop posting anything in the galleries. 4 EVERYONE stop purchasing anything from the marketplace.
I suspect it would take about 3 days for the PTB to pull their heads out of their asses, and prioritize the repairs to the site that have permeated every corner of it since that half-baked, idiotic "revolution" they inflicted on us.
Hope is constantly blathering on about how they "appreciate every single one of us." Frankly, I've seen little beyond reinstating the 4K image size, and the gallery ebots that indicates they give a damn. The ONLY reason I'm still putting up with Rendo's nonsense is because of all the friends I have here. I posted a comment in the forum last week about what a PITA it is to edit your uploads if you want to correct a typo, or add information. I've stopped using the Vendor Credits, because if you DO edit a gallery image, it blows away all the Vendor Credits, and I'm not going to spend 30 minutes re-entering them all. Got the usual response from Kimberly: "We'll look into it."
Dang - almost forgot to say what a lovely photo this is, Tara!

Hello dahlia, well hello dahlia, it's so nice to see you back where you belong.
For the longest time I didn't know the system could generate a thumbnail for you so I have always made my own. I haven't had any problems so I don't know what's going on with your gallery.
I hope this image helped to brighten your mood. It certainly did mine, its gorgeous.

Amazing capture Tara. I do not know what to say about Renderosity. God bless.

Oh, I don't know if they could've screwed up anything more with all their "new and improved" crap. It wasn't broke, so why fix it? I'm totally on board with everything you've said, written a few notes to the people who are supposed to be in charge and get the same non answer. As Rod said, I won't bail because of the people I know here, but dang, what was the point? grrrr
At any rate, your foto gives a big blast of sunshine to a gloomy RR day, and into my rainy world. I have so many fotos on my camera I haven't even uploaded; it'll be like Christmas when I finally see what's there!!

I can't be bothered to make my own thumbnails, but I feel angry for you! You put so much hard work into getting them to make very reasonable changes, for which we are all so grateful.
Every day I think about leaving, but then I upload another pic!
I just love this glorious photo.

If you look at this beautiful, sunny Dahlia, it seems like in the heart, with its many rooms, everywhere is a hidden secret. A very exciting discovery one can make while they admired your intense, great picture qualities.
What I wrote here above, was my spontaneous feeling, looking at your picture, without reading your feeling, and intention which you describe your sadness about what is happening here. I can empathize with your position, it is rude to treat you as, like, how they ignore you. I also experienced something, and I thought, I've had it with RR. But where else can I share my art? I need something, as my outlet (exhaust valve) to show myself that I even exist. (very crooked said, of course). I'm sure, Bill will understand, and help you, dear one, so you can enjoy fully you beautiful personality. And : *stomping feet, shaking fist, making rude noises *, as long as all your anger is out of your mind again.

A beautiful explosion of morning here. I swear I can smell flowers now.

Wonderful and bright flower I think that if they went a week without seeing any posts, comments or purchases, the top people would want to know why, then they'd get an earful

Very nice capture Tara.

This would make the perfect illustration for the Coldplay song "Yellow". Sorry about your "Revolution" woes & tribulations, Tara. Like Andrea, I can't be bothered with creating my own thumbnails, so this screwup is a "feature" I wasn't even aware of - just one of the many benefits of selective laziness...

just go grrrrrr a few times and take a big deep breath. will not help but may make you feel better . cool and lovely iimage

I usually try to find another 'new' angle to photograph a flower or anything else for that matter and you have achieved it here effortless, thanks for the tip Tara - because now I can see the centre - side-on, it looks just like soft pincushion - that is so cool ... and it's in your favourite colour, mellow-yellow !
Cheers BB
I hope this little recognition can cheer you up a bit for the problems you are experiencing presently (even longer than that).

It's a beautifully sensitive shot, full of revelatory detail...as always from you! I know what you mean about this site. I didn't upload for a long time (until the auto-generated thumbs came back). And if they've messed up my gallery I haven't figured it out yet. It is so difficult uploading here, though; as with everyone else, I'm only here for the community, not the site. I do also upload several other places, and while it's an easier process at most, there isn't the same sense of belonging as there is here. I guess it's all a tradeoff.

I think Rod and Denise have it, along with some others, that the reason some of us keep coming back here is the community, not the way the powers-that-be handle us on various occasions. As I've said to you in other places, both here and privately, I greatly appreciate the efforts you put out to change things here; and, despite the setbacks, you've accomplished a great deal. So in the overall, if you put out more effort than the return, the return was fine nevertheless. Whether it was worth it to you personally, only you can gauge; and I sympathize with your frustration, believe me. I've been through it in other venues, and I know the desire to say "f___ it," and walk off.
Re your photo, In addition to the beautiful detail in hues and shadow here, and gradations of yellow and orange, you caught a pov that acts like a big blast in our faces. You caught the petals as an immediate burst, something happening before our eyes; and the effect is stunning. The outer petals are handled in such a way that they look like outer energies from the blast, shooting into space. And the deep black background (or deep whatever hue it is) sets off the explosion perfectly. And the fact that it all culminates on our left makes it like a shooting star, going in that direction. A splendid image surging forward like flame, but delicate as silk.

The flower is making up for it Tara. It looks nice and sunny. I read your complaints and I don't blame you. I can't understand what the reason was to to change the existing system to begin with, it worked just fine. Luckily I don't understand much about this (computer) stuff, and besides my own computer being slow since I got a free upgrade to Windows 10, I miss many things I had done in the past, like easily scrolling through the new uploads etc. What irritates me is that my uploads don't necessarily stay in chronological order, and as far as i am concerned everything has to be in order, and it isn't.
