I particularly like this variety because of the unusually dark colours.

again, you've done 'realistic' and postworked in the same image. Full zoom really reveals the contrast. And they work together well--no conflict. The star flower is lush and sensual, like slabs of rich food. The light on the center is almost electric, as if lit from within. And the the background has some amazingly vivid hues---witness the flower above the main flower. Parts of the background are also like textured glass. I love how you combined these techniques. Full size, this thing is a huge pastiche. I love it.

Orchids are such showoffs, aren't they? I think they are the drag queens of the flower world, over the top and more "flowery" than any other flower could be. This one is incredibly stunning, and the postwork really works to accentuate its beauty!
