Stunning black and white contrast on display in this image of the pottery, Mark, including the lid. Done on a rough matte paper?

You have achieved an amazing texture with pencils in this great still life. Very impressive.

this is nice, I like the texture very much. I can almost reach out and touch it!

You really nailed the texture, Mark! I can imagine how they would feel if I reached through the monitor to touch them. Really lovely pencil work, my friend!

I can't imagine how you got those textures with pencils...amazing work! You do have some patience. Me? I just have patients, not the same thing at all... :)

This is interesting in order to make a study of all the horizontal lines, and the coarse structure of your pencil. You've got an intense impact, while still clearly distinguish the correct form, with light as well as shade. The picture exudes calm, something long look, and let go of your thoughts, musing about things that were special to have experienced.

There is always a reason to go back... I love them deeply and i remember them, so, so well!:) Exploring, is the base of artistic work. This work (and others of yours ) shows how much you did it along the time and i can see how it was important for YOUR ART NOW! ... there is much work here,Mark! I imagine the long hours that you spent in this drawing! But so much learning for sure, while going through this study! The textures are incredible and you also studied the light and shadows deeply ! I think it was also a kind of meditation and rest of mind . Your art 'NOW', reflects all this. An accurate eye; a deep insight in what you do and the 'new' insights... I have been walking through your gallery...some pieces, i had not already vivid in my mind...You have a FABULOUS work! Thank you for posting this again:) ---a white sheet of paper is always an enormous challenge isn't?---i always shake inside myself !!:))

I've been looking at all of these, but this one resonates with me the most. As you know, Helle and I have a thing about pots, and this wonderful drawing plays into our obsession SO nicely! LOL! The texturing is phenomenal. I'm glad to see this again ... it's such a joy!
