Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Great capture it is fascinating to watch them grow

yeah, they grow with each drip of water down their surfaces. And yes, if they fall, they can injure or even kill someone, esp from high up. (In downtown Chicago, there are barriers on the sidewalk, when icicles form on high rises---to keep walkers from walking anywhere near their "spill zone". From 100 stories up, falling icicles are lethal weapons.) Your shot gives us beautiful white on top of deep orange, a very pleasing combination. A striking shot, Marilyn, with long verticals in contrast with the wall, roofline, etc. (And I'm amazed that this was your "first time": I forget you came from a completely different world than I did. I can't imagine a year without icicles.)
