Description

A statue on a large pedestrian walkway in Vienna. There are a lot of distracting elements in this photo - vehicles, people, part of another statue behind this one - so I'm not entirely satisfied with this shot. We were on a guided tour at the time & there were lots of people milling around & trucks making deliveries. If I had stayed any longer, I would have been separated from the group & even them maybe not done much better. But I still thought the statue was interesting enough to share here... Please zoom

I like how the horse appears to be bowing to the child in the stroller

It is fascinating; if you'd had a chance with an empty surround think of the fun you could have had with it! I can look past the distractions to the beauty of the piece itself, and it is a beauty indeed!

To me, the main distraction is the group on the left, because the pic would be a wonderful street shot, otherwise. The horse is itself photo-worthy; but with that woman and her children (right), and the scatter of people in the background-right, the human element is just right. And the perspective of the street is beautiful, with equal amounts of walkway and buildings. But those people on the left totally get in the way, for me; and really, you should write them a letter and tell them they messed with your art...But what you got is both a fascinating capture of that sculpture, and a fine piece of urban photography as well. (I like the human legs under the horse's torso! The kind of thing New York street artists loved, in the 60's and beyond.)
