The Battle Of Britain Airshow, Duxford.. A multitude of Spitfires attended.. Including an example from the U.S.
This is SM845, built in May 1945, shipped to Karachi to South East Asia Command at the end of Feb, 1946.. It served with the Indian Air Force from late '47 for the best party of decade before being used as a decoy aircraft in the 1970's!
It survived..
It is shown in RAF, No 28 Squadron, Hong Kong, during the 1950's..
2,050hp Rolls Royce Griffon.. Top Speed 448mph..

Just the sight and sound of these are enough to give you goosebumps. It's testament to the sheer quality of this aircraft that it was kept in service for so many years after the war ended. Awesome mate :-)
